About

Designer first. Then product manager. Now both.

I’m Amit, a product designer in The Hague, Netherlands. My path went from fine art to UX/UI, into product design, and then into product management. Each step added a layer to how I design.

My path

I trained in fine art at Hamidrasha Art School and ran my own small business before I worked in software. I moved into UX/UI as a freelancer, then spent two years as a product designer on a B2B risk management platform: research, user flows, prototypes and design-system work.

In 2022 I moved into product management on the same platform, and kept designing key flows and screens. It taught me how a design decision meets a roadmap, a sprint and an engineering constraint.

Years of complex enterprise products left me with a set of problems I keep coming back to: approvals and governance, operational information that has to be read at a glance, workflows shared by many roles. I explore them in independent design work like DiagramMi and Data Eat, and lately in products I build myself, like Becky, Dia and Pattern Pieces.
